Sketchbook Project 2011

I kinda strayed away from the book, but never fear, I have put more lines down.  With Thanksgiving on it's way, I've got some extra days to draw.

Went to PPI's Bingolicious at The Garden Thursday night and had a great time.  Spent most of today doing normal stuff, you know, like laundry, cleaning, stuff ya gotta do or have the place condemned.

Here's where I'm at right now.  The lead in to the future, and inevitable end of my book, "Science Projects Gone Wrong."

Eleven days since last draw, yup, hit the wall.

Wine Tonight

I just happen to have a chilled bottle of this in the fridge.  I'm taking it with to a social event that I have not been to for over a year.  No drawing on paper for me tonight.

"The vineyards this special product is grown are located on the Beni di Boscareto estate in the village of Serralunga d’Alba. Moscato is a straw-yellow wine with golden highlights, an intense nose reminiscent of the grape, and a full, lingering, sweetly soft flavor with an aromatic aftertaste. Our high altitude vineyards in the Serralunga Hillsides are perfect for producing this luscious, fruity dessert wine. Excellent with all desserts, and only 5.5% alc/vol."

Waayy too sweet for me.  However, I loved this sexy Pinot Grigio: http://www.vogaitalia.com/

Sketchbook Project 2011

As I drove to Zumba tonight I suddenly remembered, IT'S CANCELLED .... aarrgghh!  While I was bummed to not shake it, I used the time to put down some more lines.  I'm in the flow, the groove, the, well you know.  And everyday it comes out of nowhere.  I'm not looking forward to the day/night when I run into the wall.  Oh yes, I know there will be a wall because my flow will slow when I come to the end of the past and have to create the future.  Beep .... Beep!

Sketchbook Project 2011

My Coloring Book
Completed six more pages.  I always know when to stop, my hands get alittle shaky.  Went to The Art Store after work and picked up a Le Pen, didn't work like I thought it would.  It's sad to say, but Des Moines does not have a great supply store anymore.  Looks like The Art Store is getting ready to close up shop.  They've minimized their space and a "For Lease" sign is on a window.  The gal at the counter was nice enough to order a Sakura Micron set for me.  It should be here in a week.  I'm making the PITT work but I really love the Micron.  Tweet .... Sketchbook Project 2011

My plan was to spend the entire day working on my book.  I was feeling it.  Putting the first line down felt great; however, when I flipped the page and found bleed through my heart fell to the pit of my stomach.  Just great!  Then my highlighter and crayon did not work well on the paper.  Another aarggh!  I do NOT like the paper at all.

So I took a break and surfed the net looking for a solution to my dilemma.  Ah ha!  I found other Sketchbook Project artists experiencing the same thing.
Some decided to glue two pages together, yuck .... how time consuming.  Then I surfed using the following text, "What is the best pen to use on Moleskin paper?"  Thanks to Bing, I found several links with suggestions.  Viola!  Off to Michael's (The Art Store is closed on Sundays) to purchase PITT Artist Pens then Office Depot for Pilot Fine Point G-2 and Pentel RSVP Medium Point Assorted Ink (for fun).

I ended up using a PITT, highlighter, crayon, and Prismacolor Colored Pencil, for now.  Need to get a new Sakura Pigma Micron 05.  Tweet .... Tweet

Sketchbook Project 2011

This sketchbook is suppose to be a 'sketchbook'.  Then why am I drawing drafts on other pieces of paper?  Yes, I have it.  The dreaded fear of making the initial mark on the first clean sheet.

This book is not going to be judged, it should not be this difficult.  I have a theme, ideas, supplies, a place to create, arghhh!  That's it, this Sunday I'm going to put down lines, lots of lines, or I'll never reach the deadline.

Sketchbook Project 2011

I told my doctor today I'm so tired during the week, but not on the weekends.  He replied, "Do you like your job?"  No, I don't like my job and the resulting fatigue puts a damper on my weeknight energy levels.  I've been toying with ideas on how I'm going to complete this project by the deadline.  Ah ha!  Put the lines down on the weekends and use the weeknights to add the rest.

If only I could work part-time and create full-time, what a wonderful thought.
